Hello people of the universe! If you didn't already know, I went to London! It was very fun and, if you want, you can watch my vlog! (It is in the sidebar under Categories, just click on 'Weekly Vlog') Anyway, these are some pictures from the trip!
Clay poppy exhibition! One poppy for each person who died for our country! Oh, and this man's bald patch photo-bombed my picture!
Hello people of the universe! Yesterday we went to London!!!! Yay!! I managed to edit all of our adventures last night *phew* so that you can watch them now! The idea of doing 'Weekly Vlogs' is not my own, it can from the incredible Anna from www.viviannadoesmakeup.com she is my inspiration and totally amazing! Make sure to check her out after watching this video! Anyway, Enjoy the vlog!
Hope you enjoyed that! It was very fun to film and edit. Thanks so much for watching and come back tomorrow for some more fun! Tomorrow's blog post has something to do with Autumn *hint hint* *nudge nudge* *wink wink* ! :) Love ya, Erin xxxx P.S Sorry if the video doesn't come up! For some reason it won't let it be viewed from a phone! Computers, iPads, everything else is fine :(
Hello people of the universe! As much as I love putting stuff on my face, there is something really satisfying about taking it all off. I'm going to talk you through my evening skincare/makeup removal routine, hip hip horray for skincare?!! *awkward silence*. So let's dive straight in!
1. Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm.
First I remove concealer and foundation using the Clinique - Take the Day Off Cleansing Balm. Although it is pricey (£19.50! I know, WHAT!?!), this cleansing balm is by far my favourite that I have tried. It is oil based so might not be great for people with oily skin but for us, normal to reptile skin, it is fine. It removes makeup EXTREMELY well which is great for people who wear very heavy makeup or stage makeup (and trust me, stage makeup is a pain in the A hole to remove!)
2. Simple - Kind to Eyes - Eye Makeup Remover
After that, I use the Simple Eye Makeup Remover to take off my eyes (not my actual eye balls!!) This is so nice and and gentle for removing mascara! (Or 'eyelash gloop' as Carly calls it!) I have never used it to remove waterproof mascara so I can't tell you how efficient it is for removing that :( but what I can tell you is how amazing it is for panda eyes! This product isn't perfect, you do have to do a bit of 'wiggling' to properly remove everything but eyeshadow wise, it is perfect and so cheap!!!
3. St. Ives Invigorating Apricot Scrub.
Then I get into the shower and do, ya' know.. general shower things! Whilst in the shower (I feel like I've written shower to many times now, sorry!) I use the St. Ives Invigorating Apricot Scrub. And OH-SWEET-MARY-MOTHER-OF-JESUS! This smells like pure gold (metaphorically, it doesn't smell like metal!). It is honestly one of the best things my nose has had the pleasure to sniff! The scrub itself I love as much as it's scent. I use it 4-5 times a week and since using it regularly have seen vast improvements to my skin.
4. Simple - Kind to Skin - Facial Toner.
I use this product about once a week, the reason I use it so infrequently is because the name lies. It is not kind to skin! It makes my face feel really dry when used every night, which is really sad because my skin feels so refreshed and clarified immediately after use. One night I made the mistake of using twice in one night. MAJORLY BAD DECISION! The next morning my skin was dry, red and really bumpy. Not good. At all!
5. Aveeno Moisturising Cream.
This moisturiser is a life saver and my absolute skincare staple! It is so moisturising but doesn't make my face oily. It smells a bit like the Body Shop Cocoa Butter Body Butter which I love! I admit, £13.99 is steep for a moisturiser, but the quality/performance of this product makes it all worth it!
I hope this was helpful to you guys! I'm so sorry this post was so late, the internet was down and I only got off my train at 1:30 pm! It was a nightmare! Anyway, it is here now and I hope you enjoyed it. Love ya, Erin xxxxxxxxxx
Hello people of the universe! Being a big fan of the 'accent nail' and all things glittery, I thought it only fitting that I tried out the Barry M - Nail Paint, Aquarium Collection Glitter Topcoats. Phew! That was a mouthful!
Treasure (No. 428)
Mermaid (No. 413)
There are only two 'glitter topcoats' in this collection so I bought them both! The first one (my personal favourite!) is called 'Treasure'. It has gold and rose gold chunky glitter in it. I absolutely love using this on the top third of my nail to create a sort of glitter/nail ombre effect. It does take quite a while to dry, which is a pain in the bum. I usually get bored and start adopting the, I'm-picking-things-up-but-being-really-careful-to-not-ruin-my-drying-nail-polish technique, which always fails. #NailFail #YesIDidJustUseAHashtag
Ombre Glitter - Treasure / Red Nail Polish - Boogie Nights (Sinful Colours)
The other colour is called 'Mermaid', which is such a good name for this nail polish! It has green, blue and gold chunks of glitter in, which look so nice over a silver polish on my toes! It is the perfect 'I'm-so-Mediterranean-and-swish-and-I'm-going-on-holiday-to-the-Caribbean-but-I'm-actually-not' kind of a colour!
Mermaid over Avon Mosaic Effects Silver
Mermaid over Avon Mosaic Effects Silver
Both topcoats last for a REALLY, REALLY long time, none of the glitter comes off and they are so cheap for such a great product! I also had a sneaky look at swatches of the nail paints which look AMAZING! Obviously, having never tried them, I can't give an actual opinion on them, but they do look really pretty! I'm going to London today *girly squeal* to visit some family, hopeful doing some shopping and staying in a hotel (Best. Thing. Ever.) This means that tomorrows blog post will be late (sorry?!) as I won't have my computer with me. But don't despair! It will be up around 4pm so remember to check back! Love ya, Erin xxxxx
Hello people of the universe! I confess. I went shopping. Again. When out on a 'shopping spree', there is one shop that I always visit. Lush. This particular time (there have been many) I picked up the Honey I Washed the Kids Soap!
I'm not joking when I say this soap smells like you're rubbing creme-brulee all over your body. The entire bathroom smells like caramel! Unfortunately, the smell doesn't really linger on my body after washing, but that aside, the smell is fantastic!
I found this soap really soothing for my skin, my skin felt like a babies butt (slight exaggeration, but hey-ho!) after using this. It really is like washing with creme-brulee in solid form. As you can see by my several 'creme-brulee' mentions I'm very hungry! Now for the science stuff. The thing that makes this soap so soothing for skin, is the aloe vera gel it contains. The soap is also made of honey (to soften skin) and bergamot oil (to 'brighten moods'?!)
The cost is £3.50 per 100g, however, this soap is quite a hard soap, meaning it takes quite a while to use it up! Overall, this is a great soap and I would highly recommend it to everyone. (Even people with sensitive skin!) See you tomorrow! Love ya, Erin xxxx
Hello people of the universe! Theses are the new additions to my 'Little bit 'o' Inspiration' page. The internet at my house is really crap at the moment, meaning it is extremely hard to blog! However, it seems to be OK at the moment, so here you go:
And my personal favourite: KINDNESS DOESN'T COST A DAMN THING. SPRINKLE THAT S**T EVERYWHERE!
Hello people of the universe! Being a teenager and earning £5 a week does limit my 'high-end makeup' purchases! So bearing that in mind, Boots and Superdrug are two things very close to my heart (and my face, if you think about it!). So I thought I'd compile (posh word, I know!) a list of thing to add to your 'drugstore shopping list'. Enjoy.
- Maybelline Baby Instant Pore Eraser £7.99 Using a primer isn't vital but it does help to keep everything 'where you put it' and makes your makeup last longer. I like using this primer in places where foundation plays the 'disappearing trick'! If you are in need of a new primer, I would recommend trying this one out!
- Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum £10.99 This is my favourite gel foundation of all time! It gives a light to sheer coverage which I really like as I have quite clear skin. It has a dewy finish which is right up my alley, however, if you don't like this, it can be easily fixed using some powder! All I would say is that the price is a little steep!
Real Techniques Makeup Brushes - Price varies per brush I absolutely love these makeup brushes! My favourite being the oh-so famous, Expert Face Brush. This brush picks up product like a dream, doesn't shed hairs all over my face and has silky soft bristles. I would highly, HIGHLY recommend them to everyone! They aren't expensive (Expert Face brush is around £8.00) and can be found in drugstores and supermarkets.
L'Oreal Glam Bronze Golden Bronze £7.99 This is the most beautiful, natural looking bronzer I've ever tried. For £7.99 this really did surprise me! It is great for a really natural contoured look and for general 'bronzing'. Ok, so the packaging isn't great and the brush isn't perfect but the actual product itself is fantastic!
Those are just a few drugstore products that I would recommend to you guys! Comment below anything you think I should try! See you tomorrow! Love ya, Erin xxxxx
Hello people of the universe! Yesterday I (and my honourable peasants) spent the day at the beach! Unfortunately my vlogging camera broke a few days ago so I couldn't video anything! You'll just have to deal with photos instead! So, without further ado... my day at the beach!
Do you wanna build a snowman?
Not the sunniest of days I've got to admit!
Me taking a picture of Jay, taking a picture of the sea!
The cliffs at West Bay!
I scream , you scream, we all scream for ICE-CREAM!
^ I can see the likeness! ^
Harvey's nose photo-bombed my picture!
Thanks for visiting! See you tomorrow! Love ya, Erin xxxx P.S Have a great day!
Hello people of the universe! I wanted a change around! If you've ever met me, you'll know that I'm not exactly the most decisive of people. In fact, I change my bedroom around every week! Anyone else do that? Nope. Okay... So anyway, I have started a new page called "Little bit 'o' Inspiration". It's full of quotes and pictures to keep you, well... inspired! Please check it out, new things will be added everyday!
^ The one above is my personal favourite! ^ Come back tomorrow! Love ya, Erin xxxxx
